I was sorta’ wonderin’ about the Democrat party’s newly developed a sense of morality. John Edwards, former presidential candidate had been scheduled to make a speech at this week’s democrat convention…but, following the revelation of his affair with a woman not his wife, then lying about it, he has been banned.

In his place, Bill Clinton will be speaking. Scratch the newly developed sense of morality.

And I was sorta’ wonderin’ why it is that our kids can’t read a Bible in school, but they can in prison. Why do I have to swear on the Bible in Court when the ten Commandments can’t be displayed outside?

And I was sorta’ wonderin’ why environmentalists are asking why the U.S. Forest Service has been sending crews in to battle backcountry blazes that pose no obvious threat to lives or property. I was sorta’ wonderin’ why they’re willing to let trees burn to the ground, but refuse to allow logging of those same trees. Let ‘em burn….but by God, no logging allowed.

And finally, I was sorta’ wonderin’ why there’s been no public outcry over the most recent survey results from the Center For Disease Control. According to the Chico News and Review, every two years, the CDC surveys teens in grades 9 through 12 to determine which activities they’re taking part in that could shorten their lifespan.

While the survey results show nearly forty eight percent of teens have had sex, it also reveals 89 percent of teens had ever been taught about AIDS or HIV. I was sorta’ wonderin’ just why that is. Seems to me contracting AIDS would certainly shorten a teens lifespan. Why is it being ignored in our school system? I was just sorta’ wonderin’.

Freedom of speech and freedom of religion have been taking a beating of late, and in effect, both our state and federal Constitutions have been bloodied. Who’s doing the dirty work? The State Supreme Court and the homosexual agenda.

Two doctors at the North Coast Women’s Care Medical Group in San Diego County say they declined for religious reasons to artificially inseminate a lesbian, and pointed to their rights to free speech and free exercise of religion to protect them from being compelled by government to do so. One would think the issue would end there. Not so!

The California Supreme Court has ruled that a doctor may not refuse to artificially inseminate a lesbian because it violates the doctor’s religious principles even if the two doctors referred the “patient” to other doctors who would do the job. The Justices said the two doctors are compelled by California law to artificially inseminate lesbians if requested.

This ruling means that doctors can exercise their religious freedom only as long as there is no conflict with homosexual or bisexual “rights.” The state supreme court has ruled the homosexual agenda and the Unruh civil rights act TRUMPS religious freedom.

What happened to the second part of both the state and federal Constitution’s “Congress shall make no law establishing a religion…NOR PREVENTING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF?

Article 1, Section 4 of this state’s Constitution clearly states “Free exercise and enjoyment of religion, without discrimination or preference are guaranteed. This liberty of conscience does not excuse acts that are licentious or inconsistent with the peace or safety of the State.”

Folks, the “peace and safety of the state” were not at risk, and yet, the state Supreme Court has ruled the Unruh Civil Rights Act more important, and valid, than the State Constitution.

A Mexican government official called on Mexican workers in the United States to send more money home, but Mexican migrants did not respond favorably. Gardenia Mendoza Aguilar reports from Mexico City and Eileen Truax from Los Angeles for La Opinión.

Remittances to Mexico are down and people like Rosalinda Ortiz, who depend on money sent from the United States, are feeling the impact on their wallets. Ortiz’s husband, an undocumented immigrant who worked as a bricklayer in Wisconsin, stopped sending her money six months ago when he lost his job. Since then, he has traveled to various states in search of work: Illinois, Nevada, and even Texas, where he considered crossing the border back to Mexico.

To support herself and her three children, Ortiz opened a traveling quesadilla shop in her community north of the state of Guerrero, and earns 400 pesos a week — the equivalent of $40 — just enough to cover her family’s basic expenses.

Most families that depend on remittances spend the money on food, medicine and their children’s education. They can’t afford to put money into savings toward building their own homes or other expenses.

“Mexico is addicted to and very dependent on remittances,” asserted Rodolfo Garcia Zamora, developmental studies researcher at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ).

According to the Bank of Mexico, 12.6 percent of the families residing in Mexico’s municipalities receive money from the United States. Remittances are the second largest source of income for Mexico, behind oil exports.

In 2007, remittances flowing into Mexico reached a high of $23.98 billion, but the Bank of Mexico estimates that they declined by 2.2 percent in the first half of this year.

Additionally, an estimated 100,000 Mexicans have returned to their home communities so far this year as a result of their perilous economic and social situation in the United States, which may begin with the loss of a job, and end in detainment and deportation.

The drop in remittances to Mexico has prompted Mexican Secretary of the Interior Juan Camilo Mourino to urge Mexican nationals in the United States to keep sending money and invest in their home country.

“These are our people, our countrymen and their commitment to Mexico is vital to this country,” he said. He also added that he plans to expand a social welfare program that seeks to develop Mexico’s poorest communities and support Mexican migrants in the United States. “We must find ways to overcome this crisis,” said Mourinio who explained that the large number of returnees plus the young people ready to enter the workforce are additional challenges for Mexico’s economy.

Yet he said that the Mexican government has taken steps to prepare for the crisis, including tax incentives in marginalized communities, increased public spending and temporary employment programs for returning migrants.

Mouriño spent the weekend in Los Angeles, where he met with Mexican migrant communities to exchange ideas and identify their greatest challenges.

But Mexican nationals in the United States did not react favorably to Mourino’s call to action.

While they are willing to support their home country, migrants say they expect the same from their government.

One day laborer expressed his frustration with Mourino’s speech, saying, “He wants us to send more money? Well get us more jobs.”

Raúl Barrios, a construction worker in Los Angeles, added, “You send money depending on how your work is. If there’s no work, you don’t send any.”

Last year, Barrios earned $2,000 a month. Now he earns $800 a month, sometimes less. “I know that remittances have fallen,” he said. “They feel it there because the economy is bad there too. But whether it’s a little or a lot, you send money to your family, no matter what the government says.”

Efrain Jimenez says that it is good that the Mexican government recognizes that migrants can be part of the solution and Mexico’s economic development, but added these words need to be followed by action, and the Mexican government needs to be consistent in its policy towards migrants.

“On the one hand, they are asking for our support; on the other hand, they aren’t giving us the tools to invest,” he said. Jimenez explained that if a migrant wants to invest in Mexico, the first thing required is a valid voter identification card and taxpayer registration, but these documents are not issued by Mexico’s Consulate General.

“We want the United States to recognize our matricula consulares as our official IDs, but they don’t in Mexico,” he said. “There is no consistency. They want migrants to invest in Mexico, but we can’t get a legal ID.”

Alberto Aviles, of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, agrees. “Here there are millions of migrants who are away from their families … not to play a role that will benefit them, but to put some food to the table,” he said.

I say get the fuck out of my country…no one and I mean NO ONE likes you here.

Da Brat was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for hitting a hostess in the head with a rum bottle during an altercation at a suburban Atlanta nightclub last fall.

The 34-year-old rapper, whose given name is Shawntae Harris, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in DeKalb County. Superior Court Judge Gail Flake sentenced her to three years behind bars and seven on probation, plus 200 hours of community service and completion of substance abuse treatment, mental evaluation and anger management classes.

Harris was at a private Halloween party at Studio 72, a club in Tucker, when she struck then-Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens, who was working part-time as a hostess.

A police report indicated Harris and Stevens got into a squabble after they bumped into each other. Stevens walked away and moments later was hit in the face with the bottle.

She sustained a deep cut to the cheek and some swelling on the forehead, and has a permanent scar on her face as a result, officials said.

Recordings by Da Brat, a native of Chicago and a protege of Jermaine Dupri, include the song “Funkdafied.” She also has appeared on reality shows such as “Celebrity Fit Club” and “The Surreal Life.”

A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

Philip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA) County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit–just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver–for the health of the Democratic Party.

“I filed this action at this time,” Berg stated, “to avoid the obvious problems that will occur when the Republican Party raises these issues after Obama is nominated.”.

Berg cited a number of unanswered questions regarding the Illinois senator’s background, and in today’s lawsuit maintained that Sen. Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen or that, if he ever was, he lost his citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia. Berg also cites what he calls “dual loyalties” due to his citizenship and ties with Kenya and Indonesia.

Even if Sen. Obama can prove his U.S. citizenship, Berg stated, citing the senator’s use of a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii verified as a forgery by three independent document forensic experts, the issue of “multi-citizenship with responsibilities owed to and allegiance to other countries” remains on the table.

In the lawsuit, Berg states that Sen. Obama was born in Kenya, and not in Hawaii as the senator maintains. Before giving birth, according to the lawsuit, Obama’s mother traveled to Kenya with his father but was prevented from flying back to Hawaii because of the late stage of her pregnancy, “apparently a normal restriction to avoid births during a flight.” As Sen. Obama’s own paternal grandmother, half-brother and half-sister have also claimed, Berg maintains that Stanley Ann Dunham–Obama’s mother–gave birth to little Barack in Kenya and subsequently flew to Hawaii to register the birth.

Berg cites inconsistent accounts of Sen. Obama’s birth, including reports that he was born at two separate hospitals–Kapiolani Hospital and Queens Hospital–in Honolulu, as well a profound lack of birthing records for Stanley Ann Dunham, though simple “registry of birth” records for Barack Obama are available in a Hawaiian public records office.

Should Sen. Obama truly have been born in Kenya, Berg writes, the laws on the books at the time of his birth hold that U.S. citizenship may only pass to a child born overseas to a U.S. citizen parent and non-citizen parent if the former was at least 19 years of age. Sen. Obama’s mother was only 18 at the time. Therefore, because U.S. citizenship could not legally be passed on to him, Obama could not be registered as a “natural born” citizen and would therefore be ineligible to seek the presidency pursuant to Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution.

Moreover, even if Sen. Obama could have somehow been deemed “natural born,” that citizenship was lost in or around 1967 when he and his mother took up residency in Indonesia, where Stanley Ann Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen. Berg also states that he possesses copies of Sen. Obama’s registration to Fransiskus Assisi School In Jakarta, Indonesia which clearly show that he was registered under the name “Barry Soetoro” and his citizenship listed as Indonesian.

The Hawaiian birth certificate, Berg says, is a forgery. In the suit, the attorney states that the birth certificate on record is a forgery, has been identified as such by three independent document forensic experts, and actually belonged to Maya Kasandra Soetoro, Sen. Obama’s half-sister.

“Voters donated money, goods and services to elect a nominee and were defrauded by Sen. Obama’s lies and obfuscations,” Berg stated. “If the DNC officers … had performed one ounce of due diligence we would not find ourselves in this emergency predicament, one week away from making a person the nominee who has lost their citizenship as a child and failed to even perform the basic steps of regaining citizenship as prescribed by constitutional laws.”

“It is unfair to the country,” he continued, “for candidates of either party to become the nominee when there is any question of the ability to serve if elected.”

Tony Rezko still technically “owns” 5/6 of the lot next to Obama’s. Yeah. If I had a half a million dollar piece of property, I’d sell off just enough so that I couldn’t do anything with the rest of it, except leave it there for the neighbors! Right!

What a good neighbor Obama is in landscaping and taking care of Mr. Rezko’s property as if it were his own! The wall and the trees surround both lots. Looks like Obama even cuts Tony’s grass for him!

Following that Biblical admonition, no doubt, “In as much as you have done this to the least of these swindlers, slumlords and dishonest developers defrauding the least of these my brethren, you have done this unto me!”

“As can be seen, the house and the adjacent lot are landscaped as one property. There appears to be a wall around both properties together, enclosing the house and its side yard. There appears to be no access from the street to the property Rezko purchased except through the Obamas’ driveway. It is, in other words, the yard of the Obamas’ house.
Rather than merely purchasing a separate lot, Rezko appears to have purchased the yard of the Obama manse, and allowed them to live in the house+yard property, amounting to a gift (or loan, if you will) of considerable value.”

Sweetheart deal? Or half million dollar gift? I’ve heard Obama talk about Tony Rezko! They ain’t sweethearts! What did Tony Rezko get for his half million dollars?

I don’t know how the Clintons managed to pull it off, but they’re back. The Democrat convention has been shanghaied with Hillary being granted a keynote speech in prime time. She’ll be followed the following night by her “husband”, Bill, also given a prime time speaking slot.

There’s no doubt in my mind that the dynamic duo will be laying the groundwork for a Hillary run four years down the road. If I’m right, it also means the Clintons will do everything they can to torpedo an Obama presidency during the next four years.

And that’s not all. Obama has also capitulated to allow Hillary’s name to be put into nomination on the first ballot….and even allow a roll call vote by the states. That’s gonna’ take up an awful lot of TV prime time. It runs the risk of an embarrassing Obama night. Obama’s spokesman Bill Burton says the “mechanics” of the roll call vote are still being worked out, but he concedes that Clinton will probably garner many votes on that first ballot.

How did the Obama team allow the convention to practically be turned over to the Clintons? The decision came after weeks of talks and negotiations with the Clinton camp. Kinda’ makes ya’ wonder just how much of a negotiator a “President Obama” would be. If he caves so easily to the Clintons, how can he stand up to Iran, Russia, Syria? or what if the Clinton Machine has some deep dark dirt on Barry…

But here’s an interesting caveat: Under proposed convention bylaws, delegates would be forced to register their votes on a tally sheet with the convention secretary –and the rules could be altered or suspended before the start of the convention. That, too….will be an interesting scenario to watch.

Next week promises great entertainment on television –for a change!

The Hope Cove coastguard team in South Devon, England, defied orders not to take a seventeen foot inflatable to sea, when they saw a 13 year-old being swept out to sea by a rip current. The boat had recently been repaired and was awaiting a seaworthiness inspection. Despite battling through waves to rescue the teenager, bosses at the maritime and coastguard Agency were furious on their return and confiscated the boat. All the volunteers who manned the boat to save the teenager have now been threatened with disciplinary action.

Earlier I told you about the UN telling the British to be more flexible to Muslim’s feelings. Lose the piggy banks, quit selling pork and pork products, etc. Now comes word from London that the UN Human Rights Commission says Britain’s provisions under the Terrorism Act of 2006 are too broad and vague which could infringe on freedom of expression.

Under the law, people convicted of encouraging terrorism face up to seven years in jail. The UN Commission says “that’s not fair.”

In Garden Grove, California, (which is in Orange County) water is a precious commodity. So much so, some residents have intentionally let their lawns go brown based on Governor Schwarzenegger’s plea to conserve. But now, the city says homeowners will be fined for letting lawns go brown.

Homeowner Jean Orban thought she’d solved the problem by installing artificial lawn. Her water bill has dropped to about the price of a bottle of water off the shelf at Safeway. The Orange County Water district offers rebates to those who install artificial turf and Orban was about to receive a $300 dollar rebate.

That is, until the city of Garden Grove pointed to an ordinance banning artificial lawns. Those that have installed artificial lawns have been warned they will be fined. Because of the ban, Orban was denied her $300 rebate. Yep…some days, ya’ just can’t win!

Obama Confirms Relationship with Communist Party

With the release of a 40-page “Unfit for Publication” report attacking Jerome Corsi’s new book, The Obama Nation, it should be obvious that the media-backed presidential candidate, Barack Obama, is terrified of having his carefully concealed communist and foreign connections exposed to public view.

However, the Obama campaign’s attack on Corsi’s book and Corsi personally acknowledges on pages 9 and 10 of its report that the mysterious “Frank” in Obama’s 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, is in fact the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis. This identification by us and others hasn’t been disputed by the media, which has desperately tried to ignore the Obama-Davis relationship, but the Obama campaign has not responded to it until now.

The admission that Obama’s mentor was Frank Marshall Davis, an identified CPUSA member, can only add to growing public concern about Obama’s relationship with a Communist pawn of Moscow who was the subject of security investigations by the FBI and various congressional committees which examined Soviet activities in the U.S.

According to these official documents, cited first by AIM and also by Corsi in his book, Davis was a secret CPUSA member who became a member of an underground communist apparatus in Hawaii. As late as the 1970s, Davis was involved with a CPUSA front organization, the American Committee for Protection of Foreign Born, dedicated to keeping foreign communists such as labor leader Harry Bridges from being deported from the U.S. Davis, a friend of Bridges, a secret CPUSA member, became Obama’s mentor during the years 1975-1979.

But the Obama report makes no admission that Davis was a communist and doesn’t dispute anything Corsi documents about Davis’s membership in the Communist Party. Instead, the report picks and chooses from Obama’s book in order to try to put some distance between Obama and Davis. The report attempts to play down instances in which Obama soaks up Davis’s anti-American thoughts and pro-communist “poetry.”

But if the relationship were so innocent, why didn’t Obama identify Frank by his full name in his book and denounce his communist and anti-American views? Why doesn’t he denounce those views now?

At this point, it is clear that Corsi is to Obama what the National Enquirer is to admitted adulterer and liar John Edwards. The Enquirer exposed Edwards secret life when the rest of the media were refusing to investigate the candidate and making fun of the Enquirer.

It is noteworthy that the Obama campaign’s “Unfit for Publication” report begins with citing negative “reviews” of the Corsi book from various publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Time magazine. The media are angry and jealous because Corsi did the heavy lifting that the media refuse to do.

While Obama’s communist and foreign connections are of serious and ongoing concern, Corsi’s treatment of Obama’s admitted drug use has emerged as a special raw nerve for the Obama campaign and his media acolytes. They realize that many Americans, whose families have been decimated and destroyed by illegal drugs, may recoil at the thought of having an admitted user of marijuana and cocaine occupy the oval office.

The Attack Begins

Acting on information provided by a left-wing group known as Media Matters, which functions as an unofficial arm of the Democratic Party, the New York Times attacked Corsi for charging that Obama has “yet to answer” whether he ever dealt drugs and when he stopped, if indeed he ever did. The Times protested that Obama has answered that charge, at least the part about quitting marijuana and cocaine, by saying that he hasn’t used drugs since he was 20 years old.

So why did Corsi raise the subject when it supposedly has been put to rest? It’s because, as an experienced investigative reporter, he knows that a few perfunctory denials, which could be expected from someone running for office, do not constitute any form of proof or convincing answer that he in fact ever did quit drugs. As Corsi has suggested in defending his book’s account of Obama’s admitted drug use, self-reporting by drug users about when they quit is notoriously unreliable. Every drug addict claims to have quit at one time or another. That’s what drug testing is all about.

Joyce Nalepka, president of Drug-Free Kids: America’s Challenge, points out that recovering cocaine addicts say that the high from cocaine is so intense that you never stop wanting it. She points to the case of former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry, who was caught twice using cocaine. Barry was caught in one case as a result of a police sting and another because of court-ordered drug testing.

Don’t you believe Obama when he says he quit drugs? “No,” replied Nalepka. “And I didn’t believe Mayor Barry either.”

The Soros Connection

However, she does believe that, if Obama is elected, his backers in the drug legalization movement funded by billionaire George Soros will press for legalization of marijuana, cocaine and other dangerous drugs. Soros is a big backer of Obama and has contributed financially to his campaign.

During the Reagan Administration, Nalepka served as the president of the anti-drug group that Nancy Reagan served as honorary chair. She warns that Obama has “voted for at least two pro-legalization [of marijuana] bills” and that drug legalization advocates are spreading the word that Obama will not support federal enforcement of federal marijuana arrests. She said a questionnaire, which includes the question, “Do you support keeping drug possession, dealing and trafficking a crime?,” has not been answered by the Obama campaign. John McCain, on the other hand, vows to “uphold the law,” she says.

When she made several calls trying to find out what happened to the questionnaire, an Obama staff member said that the appropriate official would call “within the hour.” But that was “weeks ago,” Nalepka says.

Even if Obama took and passed a drug test, Nalepka says she would never vote for him, explaining, “It appalls me at the thought that people would be naïve enough to vote for someone who admits drug use.” She says this view stems from 30 years of “watching parents wail and cry and talk about the hell their families went through” because of marijuana, cocaine and other drugs.

“I would never vote for an elected official who was ever a drug user,” she tells AIM. “We have to get this country back to being an honorable nation with honorable people running it.”

But the views of Nalepka and others in the campaign against illegal drugs have been ignored by media anxious to accept Obama’s word that he has quit dangerous mind-altering drugs.

Nalepka is concerned that progress that has been made is at risk. “We worked long and hard to close those drug paraphernalia shops in the 1980s and long and hard again to get student drug testing in the schools so we could get drugs out of the schools,” she said. “And we’re going to allow someone to come in to the White House of the United States of America who was a drug user?”

Corsi’s account of Obama’s drug use is apparently one of many “lies” that an official Obama campaign spokesman has alleged to be in the book. The Times story defending Obama against Corsi’s book was followed by a Washington Post story attacking the author. The liberal media have been forced to take note of the book because it has become number one on the New York Times bestseller list.

The Davis Connection

Regarding the Davis-Obama relationship, now confirmed by the Obama campaign, the Post, as well as its “conservative” competitor, the Washington Times, recently ran a dishonest Associated Press story that portrayed Davis as a positive influence on Obama who had no affiliation with the CPUSA. This was the real lie.
Prior to that, the only time the Post came close to mentioning Davis was after I held a May 22 news briefing on the subject and Post reporter Dana Milbank attended and then attacked our event without mentioning that the main subject was none other than Frank Marshall Davis. Of course, dishonest coverage like this helps explain why Corsi’s book is meeting a pent-up demand for facts about the candidate and is so successful. The American people understand that they are not getting the truth about Obama from the mainstream media.

Another line of attack—that Corsi is doing the bidding of the Republican Party and the John McCain campaign—makes no sense because Corsi writes very critically of McCain and is a member of the Constitution Party, which is fielding its own presidential candidate, Chuck Baldwin, this fall. Plus, Corsi’s editor at WorldNetDaily, where he writes regularly, is Joseph Farah, whose book, None of the Above, argues against Obama and McCain.

The pro-Obama media emphasize that the Corsi book is published by Simon & Schuster’s Threshold Editions, whose main editor is former GOP strategist Mary Matalin. The 40-page Obama report dishonestly claims the Corsi book is “brought to you by the Bush/Cheney Attack Machine.” But it is clearly the case that Corsi and Farah are independent conservatives who have no allegiance to the GOP. Corsi has written articles and even a book attacking the Bush/Cheney Administration’s secretive Security and Prosperity Partnership, a forerunner for an emerging North American Union.

Corsi has written a book on Obama for the obvious reason that little is known about the Democratic candidate, and there is no evidence that the major media are interested in uncovering or publicizing the hidden facts about him. On the other hand, the media are doing a good job covering McCain’s controversial connections, such as his ties to lobbyists for foreign countries.

Post reporter Eli Saslow writes that the Corsi book “lacks major revelations.” Wouldn’t it be nice if the Post let us decide that for ourselves? Why not run a true and accurate story about Frank Marshall Davis and let the readers decide? But Saslow must figure that such a story would only hurt the media’s candidate.

Saslow let the truth slip: “Until recently, he [Obama] had the luxury of presenting his story alone.” Since when should a presidential candidate have the ability to present his own story without critical comment and investigation by the media? And especially on the subject of admitted use of marijuana and cocaine and connections to communists? But that has been the case with Obama, and that is why Corsi is being attacked.

Larry King as Obama Puppet

As part of the campaign to destroy Corsi, some reporters have dredged up some controversial comments he posted on a website that people found objectionable. CNN’s Larry King, with the help of a “progressive” from Media Matters named Paul Waldman, tried this and other tactics on his show on Wednesday night. They are just a diversion from the substance of the book. King found Corsi guilty of “false” claims against Obama even before he introduced Corsi on the show.

On the other hand, King identified Waldman as being from “A progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing and correcting conservative misinformation in the United States media.” This is how the organization, which has significant links to the Democratic Party, describes itself. It started out as a front for Hillary Clinton but is now spending most of its time defending Obama.

It is interesting to note that the title of the official Obama campaign report on Corsi, “Unfit for Publication,” was an actual headline over a previous Media Matters account of Corsi’s book. In attacking the reporting on the costs of Obama’s Global Poverty Act, the Obama report also cites misleading charges from Media Matters So it is obvious that the Obama campaign and Media Matters are colluding.

These pathetic attacks will probably generate more interest in the book. And once people read the book, they will only have more questions and suspicions about Obama and his powerful media machine.

I cannot reveal the source, but learned in the course of our e-mail conversation that this person is assisting Republicans.

Here are excerpts from his/her messages:

We are waiting until after the Democrat convention in Denver.

Before anything else is released, we need to ensure that Obama does in fact get the nomination and not Hillary.

Lets just say that there is a lot more concerning Obama in Indonesia - Information involving Obama and others that should be instrumental in ensuring that he never sees the White House.

I hope you understand that we can’t allow Hillary to win the nomination in Denver.

Now, I fully expect skeptics and detractors to challenge the reliability of this information. Of course it’s up to you whether you believe my source, or not. I have reason to believe.

Hooray for common sense and the American way! Good news comes to us this day from Wichita, Kansas.

That is because of a ruling by U.S. District Judge J. Thomas Marten in which he ruled that St. Anne Catholic School’s English-only policy did NOT create a “hostile educational environment” for Hispanic students.

Judge Marten went on to deny a request from three Hispanic families to end the practice at St. Anne; therefore, English-only will continue to be the official school policy. *

Although the victory is quite gratifying, it is a pity that so much time and money was wasted pandering to muddled Hispanics who refuse to assimilate.

This is another example of why America needs a Constitutional Amendment to make English the official language in the United States–and the only language for government, education, law, commerce, and other vital venues.

This is, after all, America, and we speak English here!

To those who are bothered by English, be advised that America has good highways and roads leading southward, to a third-world slum where Spanish is spoken.

That would be Mexico, and do not the door hit you and your tribe of illiterate peasants in the posteriors on your way out!

By the way judge, did you verify the immigration status of the plaintiffs? Odds are, the complaining parties are illegal aliens who have no right to be in American to begin with.

God Bless America and English-Only!

We just received this photo of a school registration form, courtesy of reader “curious,” taken by Tatan Syuflana, an Indonesian AP reporter and photographer. There was an AP story story in Jan. 2007, but it did not include this photo. The photo has become relevant now in the context of other revelations reported.

The AP caption reads: “This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy’s religion as Islam. (AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana)”

A quick search through Google reveals that there is an actual Associated Press photographer by the name Tatan Syuflana. It appears that this photographer specializes in the Indonesian region of the world. The upload timeframe would have been around February 14, 2007 about 2 or so weeks after the document was released that states that the document was made available on January 24, 2007.

The date of January 24, 2007 was about the time that FOX news incorrectly reported that the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta was a madrassa. The school itself is NOT in question. What IS in question is Barack Obama’s identity, whether or not his name is legally ‘Barry Soetero’; whether or not if he was adopted by Lolo Soetero, whether or not if he retains Indonesian citizenship …

Samples of Tatan Syuflan’s work appears in common news websites such as CBS, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Time magazine. What is still mysterious is that the photo of the registration document appears to have been scrubbed. In depth research finds that any site related to the Associated Press does not feature it on their site. If it did, it appeared briefly. The actual document itself is eluded to in various articles, find out more below.

What It Means

This AP photo is compelling evidence of the following assertions, which have been set forth on this blog:

1. Barack Obama had Indonesian citizenship

2. Barack Obama had the legal name Barry Soetoro

3. Barack Obama was a Muslim, despite his “fight the smears” claim that he never has been.

In addition, it means that Barack Obama apparently lied to the Illinois Supreme Court when asked to provide former names, according to this Attorney’s Registration Record:

When was Barack Obama going to tell the electorate about his Indonesian identity and citizenship?

What is the current status of his Indonesian citizenship?

Did Barack Obama travel to Pakistan in 1981 on an Indonesian passport?

Does his birth certificate say Barry Soetoro?

Did he ever legally change his name from Soetoro to Obama?

Is the correct name on the ballot?

The Indonesian school registration form has been translated.

Tommy DeFoe wore his Southern pride on his Confederate flag belt buckle Wednesday as he argued in federal court that a school dress code banning such items violated his free speech rights.

“I am fighting for my heritage and my rights as a Southerner and an American,” said the lanky DeFoe, 18, during a break in the trial that started Monday in his lawsuit against the Anderson County School Board and several county education officials.

DeFoe says his great-great uncle served in the Confederate army and “died for the South” in the Civil War.

But heritage was not the issue for school officials in Anderson County, in East Tennessee not far from Knoxville, who suspended DeFoe more than 40 times for violating the dress code before he received his certificate of completion from the county vocational school last fall.

They feared DeFoe’s Confederate flag shirts and belt buckle could inflame racial tensions and violence.

DeFoe’s lawsuit is the latest in a string of cases across the South since the 1990s challenging dress codes that banned Confederate flag apparel: a prom gown in Kentucky, purses in Texas, T-shirts in Kentucky, South Carolina and Georgia.

The all-white jury in DeFoe’s case deliberated two hours and will resume work Thursday.

It is unusual for such cases to go to a jury trial at all. Most were settled with a payment to the plaintiffs, said DeFoe attorney Kirk Lyons, who has been involved in many of the cases as chief trial lawyer for the North Carolina-based Southern Legal Resource Center. Others were thrown out by judges.

DeFoe’s lawyer claims the issue is whether the school system can ban the Confederate flag, a symbol of racism to some that has been widely associated with the Ku Klux Klan, if it causes no substantial disruption.

All sides agree DeFoe’s clothing failed to draw much notice at Anderson High School, where one of 1,160 students is black, or at the vocational school, where all 200 students are white.

But racial tension had been a problem before at Anderson High, where the arrival of two black students a few years ago was met with racist graffiti and a Confederate flag-raising.

School officials also worried about the impact at the more racially mixed Clinton High School six miles away, where about 100 of 1,200 students are black. Clinton High was the first public school desegregated by court order in the Old South in 1956 and was rocked by three massive explosions that temporarily closed the school in 1958.

“If he had worn at Clinton High what he wore at Anderson High it would have been a riot, somebody would have clobbered him,” said county school board chairman John Burrell, one of the officials sued by DeFoe.

Burrell said DeFoe clearly was “challenging the system. He knew the dress code. His father knew the dress code. He signed the dress code. He was challenging it.”

Until 2001, the dress code for all Anderson County schools specifically banned the Confederate flag. Then the policy was rewritten to more general language “because we were afraid we would leave something out,” Burrell said. Still, he said it was understood Confederate flag apparel wasn’t allowed.

DeFoe’s lawsuit questions why other symbols aren’t banned, including the Mexican flag, the Canadian flag, political campaign buttons and images of Martin Luther King Jr.

He said other students wore Confederate flag clothing without consequence.

“I felt like I was the one who stood up for” what he believed in, he said.

Barack Obama is running for President as… well, Barack Hussein Obama. That’s his legal name, right?

Or is it.

There is now evidence indicating that his actual valid Birth Certificate on file in Hawaii says Barry Soetoro. That was the Indonesian identity that Obama acquired when Lolo Soetoro adopted him. His original Birth Certificate, presumably in the name Barack Hussein Obama, was sealed. That’s our theory.

It seems that Obama put a fake Birth Certificate on his official campaign website because he wanted to hide his Indonesian identity from us, including his Muslim background and that pesky Constitutional dual-citizenship matter. That is our assertion.

And we believe that Barry Soetoro started using the name “Obama” sometime in the 70’s, it would seem.

BUT, interestingly, our researchers have been unable to locate the public record showing that Barry Soetoro legally changed his name back to Barack Obama. Sure, he could have used his original birth certificate (the one that was sealed) in the name “Obama” as an identity document over the years, and no one would have known…(didnt he say that he found that in a shoe box in high school?)

But what is Obama’s official, legal name? Is it the name he used to sign his candidacy papers for the President? Is it the one which will be on the ballot for the Democratic party nomination in Denver this month? Is it the one that will be on the ballot for President in all the states this November? Is it the one he used to enroll in private schools?

Or is it the name he used to travel to Pakistan?

Is his legal name Barack Obama, or Barry Soetoro?

UPDATE:

For those who have not followed this story, Soetoro is the name on Obama’s Birth Certificate (BC) because a new BC was issued when he was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, his step-father. His original BC, which we assume was issued for Barack Hussein Obama at birth, would have been sealed at that time.

We assert that Barry Soetoro acquired Indonesian citizenship in approximately 1965-1966, and may still hold it. Barack Obama possibly changed his legal name back to Barack Hussein Obama as an older child, teenager, or adult, possibly never did — but even if he did, this procedure would not result in a change to the BC.

The Birth Certificate published by Obama on his campaign website (still there, by the way) and distributed to the media was forged because the real BC on file is in the name Soetoro, an identity he apparently wanted to hide from the American people.

I am getting reports from different sources that Obama traveled to Pakistan in ‘81 with an Indonesian passport.

These revelations raise several troubling issues for Obama’s electability and eligibility. Foremost, there is the concerted attempt to conceal his background and dual citizenship/identity from the electorate. Secondly, there is a potential Constitutional problem with a POTUS having held dual citizenship; Article II of the constitution requires the POTUS and Commander-in-Chief to have only ONE loyalty to country, and that must be to the US.

I will post links to relevant previous articles on these issues, but you can find them all on this blog.

Democrats have found a rich new vein for mining votes: convicted felons.

In Alabama, Al Sharpton’s younger brother, the Rev. Kenneth Glasgow, will take his “Prodigal Son” ministry into state prisons with voter-registration cards for the first time. The American Civil Liberties Union recently filed suit there and in Tennessee to make it possible for an even larger class of felons to register. In Ohio, the NAACP will hold a voter-registration day at the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland this month to register “people caught up in the criminal justice system,” a local official said. In California, a team will stand in front of jails on Aug. 16 to register people visiting prisoners and encourage them to take registration cards to their incarcerated friends or family members, some of whom can legally vote.

In Florida, RINO Governor Charlie Crist recently pushed through a change that made 115,000 felons eligible to vote. The campaign to get them registered is being led by Obamunist civil rights lawyer Reggie Mitchell, who crows:

The majority of people to get their rights restored are Democrats, and if we get them registered, [we] might overtake the state.

Nice work, Crist. At least this might keep you from getting reelected.

That left-wing outfits assume the overwhelming majority of convicted felons would vote Democrat tells you all you need to know about the Party of Decline.

The Ku Klux Klan just sent us a press release.

On August 7th, Pastor Thomas Robb, National Director of The Knights Party (aka Knights of the Ku Klux Klan) issued an invitation to presidential hopefuls, Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain to speak to their annual leadership conference over the week-end of August 29, 30 &31. While the invitation is sincere and an acceptance by the candidates would be welcome, Pastor Robb is confident that both candidates are more interested in pandering to ethnic minorities than addressing the issues of concern to White Christians.

The context of both invitations were similar in content and read as follows.

Dear Senator McCain:

Recently you have received and accepted invitations to speak to various groups regarding your qualifications to be President of the United States. In each of these meetings you would address issues that were of concern to the particular group you were speaking to.

On June 2nd you appeared before AIPAC - American-Israel Political Affairs Committee. On July 14th you appeared before National Council of La Raza. On July 16th you appeared before the NAACP - National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

I am confident that each of these meetings produced positive results for your campaign. We would like to submit a similar invitation for you to speak to our group.

For the most part White people are ignored during election campaigns and, unfortunately after elections. The White population is generally ignored because of the persuasive attitude that it doesn’t really matter as the white vote is always split down the middle and the block votes of other ethnic people always decides the election outcome.

That, however, is likely to change as more and more whites are feeling a sense of disenfranchisement and displacement. A white block vote may well be in the development. Only time will tell.

I would like to extend an invitation to you to come and speak to our national leadership conference taking place on August 29,30 & 31. I am confident that your appearance will create an exciting and lively discussion and can produce a national buzz for your campaign.

I assure you that this is a sincere invitation and you will be afforded the respect that is deserving any candidate for the highest office in the land.

Please contact me directly at 870-427-3414 and let me know of your acceptance of our invitation.

Sincerely,

Thomas Robb

I say they should go….why not? White people are a voting class just like blacks or mexicans. I’m not voting for McCain because he is white or I agree with some of his politics, but I could never see myself voting for Obama, not because he is black—-it’s because his shady past and his lack of political experience. You couldn’t get hired at any well paying job with only 143 days of actual work experience.

Detroit mayor charged with 2 felony assault counts

Moments after a judge ruled that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick could be released from jail if he pays a $50,000 bond, Michigan’s attorney general announced he was charging the mayor with two felony assault charges stemming from a confrontation between Kilpatrick and a sheriff’s detective.

The detective accused the mayor of pushing another investigator while recently trying to serve a subpoena on a friend of Kilpatrick. The two counts of assaulting or obstructing a police officer are each punishable by up to two years in prison.

“In my almost 20 years, first as a prosecutor and now as an attorney general … I cannot recall ever seeing let alone hearing of a situation where a police officer trying to serve a subpoena was assaulted,” Attorney General Mike Cox said at a news conference.

Kilpatrick spent Thursday night in a one-man jail cell with no TV for violating his bond in a criminal perjury case that has dogged him for months. Then Wayne County Circuit Judge Thomas Jackson altered the ruling of the lower court judge who ordered the mayor to jail.

Jackson said District Judge Ronald Giles went too far by not attaching some kind of cash bond to his ruling.

In order to get out of jail, Kilpatrick must pay a $50,000 cash bond and wear an electronic tether. He won’t be allowed to travel.

Cox, meanwhile, announced the assault charges after state police wrapped up an investigation of the confrontation between Kilpatrick and a sheriff’s detective, who accused Kilpatrick of the pushing incident in July while the investigator was trying to serve a subpoena on Bobby Ferguson, a Kilpatrick ally and possible witness.

Brian White, who works for the Wayne County sheriff’s office, said Kilpatrick came outside of a house belonging to his sister, Ayanna, and threw him into another investigator. White didn’t fall but said he may have a slight hip fracture.

Kilpatrick attorney Jim Thomas said the mayor will fight the assault charges.

“It’s an allegation. Let’s take it step by step,” he said.

White is a lead investigator in Kilpatrick’s perjury case. The mayor and a former top aide are charged with perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice, all tied to their testimony in a civil trial last year. At the heart of that case: steamy text messages contradicting their claim that they didn’t have a romantic relationship.

To remain free while the case moves through court, Kilpatrick was required to notify authorities about business that required out-of-state travel.

He admitted violating that condition when he went to Windsor, Ontario — minutes from Detroit — on July 23 to discuss the sale of the city’s portion of a tunnel connecting the U.S. and Canada. He didn’t call prosecutors or inform the court.

Saying he wanted the mayor treated like any other defendant, Giles on Thursday ordered the leader of the country’s 11th-largest city jailed. Kilpatrick was transported to jail in a sheriff’s van, photographed, given a green jumpsuit and placed in a one-man cell for high-profile people. He wore a tan suit to his court hearing Friday morning.

Earlier Thursday, Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty waived their right to a preliminary exam in the perjury case. That means those charges now go directly to Wayne County Circuit Court. Arraignment for the pair was set for Aug. 14. Both deny the charges.

Snipes to pay court $217,363

Actor Wesley Snipes must pay more than $217,000 to reimburse the government for the costs of prosecuting his tax evasion case, an Ocala federal judge ruled Thursday.

Senior U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges ordered Snipes to pay $217,363.74 of the cost of prosecuting the case, in which he was charged with conspiracy and willful failure to file federal income taxes.

In upholding a recommendation U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary R. Jones made July 2, Hodges overruled objections by Snipes’ lawyers to the proposed fee.

An Ocala jury on Feb. 1 found Snipes guilty of three misdemeanor counts of willfully failing to file tax returns, but acquitted him of felony conspiracy and tax fraud charges and three additional counts of failure to file. The jury also found Snipes’ co-defendants, Eddie Ray Kahn and Douglas Rosile, guilty on the same felony charges.

Snipes was a member of Kahn’s Mount Dora-based American Rights Litigators, a group prosecutors described as nothing more than an illegal tax-evasion scheme. Rosile, a former CPA, prepared some tax returns, including Snipes’, for the organization.

In April, Hodges sentenced Snipes to three years in prison, but Snipes remains free on bail while appealing his conviction. Kahn is serving a 10-year sentence at a low-security federal prison in Texas. Rosile is serving a 4.5-year sentence at a minimum-security federal prison in Pensacola.

Sam Armstrong, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, declined to comment Thursday on Hodges’ ruling. Snipes’ lawyer, Daniel Meachum, could not be reached for comment.

John Thomas Matthew Lee is a Navy Lieutenant Commander, and a Roman Catholic Navy chaplain. He’s also a homosexual….and he is HIV positive. He has AIDS!

Commander Lee will be spending the next two years in the brig for sexual misconduct with several men, including an enlisted Marine, an Air Force officer and two naval Academy midshipmen. According to Navy Times, Commander Lee pleaded guilty to two counts of sodomy, one count of aggravated assault, three counts of conduct unbecoming an officer, two counts of failure to obey lawful orders, and three lesser charges.

If you’re a veteran, you may be aghast that he only received two years prison-time. It was all part of a plea bargain. You see, prosecutors traded the relatively light sentence for information that only Commander Lee could provide regarding the identity of other people he infected so they could be notified of their exposure.

What makes this story even more interesting is that presidential candidate Barack Obama says he wants to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military. In an interview with Military Times newspaper, he was asked how he would deal with opposition from within the Pentagon. He smiled and said “Well, I’m a pretty persuasive guy.”

At the same time, a hearing was underway before the House Armed Services Subcommittee on the subject of allowing gays to serve openly in the military.

Elaine Donnelly is the chief of the Center for Military Preparedness. She says “if homosexuals are allowed to serve openly in the military, it’ll result in forced cohabitation with homosexuals 24/7 in all military communities, including Army and Marine infantry battalions, Special Ops forces, Navy Seals, and all ships at sea, including submarines. It would be tantamount to forcing female soldiers to cohabitate with men in intimate quarters, with no recourse but to leave or avoid the military altogether.”

It would also produce many, many, more Commander John Thomas Matthew Lee types, spreading AIDS among like-minded individuals in the military. Let’s hope saner heads prevail.

In the new survey, McCain has tripled his lead on the topic of immigration. He now has a 45% to 36% advantage over his Democratic opponent, up from a three-point lead two weeks ago.

The Republican also has pulled ahead on the issue of balancing the federal budget. Two weeks ago, the candidates were tied on this issue at 40%. McCain now has a 43% to 40% lead on the issue among voters.

McCain used to be behind on the issue of Social Security but has pulled ahead of Obama for a 44% to 38% lead.

The economy is the top issue for the majority of voters this election season. Voters have consistently trusted the Democratic Party more on this issue, but the two presidential candidates are tied at 45% as to who voters trust more. A week prior, Obama had a statistically insignificant one percentage point lead on the issue.

The more people learn about Barack H. Obama they less they like him.

The marriage of convenience between Muslims and moonbats will soon make for a very messy divorce, as Eurabians are already starting to learn. From hyper-liberal Norway:

The Norwegian Islamic Council is still waiting for a reply from the European Fatwa Council before it decides whether or not it is in favor of the death penalty for homosexuality.

Gripes Sara Azmeh Rasmussen, “the only openly lesbian Muslim in Norway”:

It’s wrong of the Islamic Council to wait for the “verdict” from the fatwa council in such an important case. By not saying “no” to death penalties for gays, it shows attitudes that conflict with both democratic and humanitarian values.

They also conflict with moonbat “values,” which will be a dim memory when Europe becomes Islamized, an irreversible process made possible by the same sort of liberal fools who consider “homophobia” the ultimate crime.

On the positive side, at least we won’t be seeing any Up Your Alley festivals in the Norway of the future. It’s a little cold for them up there anyway.

They’ll wait until they have larger numbers in the U.S. before they start publicly denouncing and protesting the gay events. Gotta keep the liberals on their side.

According to Wikipedia, 1.8% of Norway is Muslim. America isn’t far behind with 1%. France is between 6.9-10% and the country that experience the ridiculous cartoon protests, the Netherlands, is between 5.5-6%. Apparently once a country nears 2% and beyond, the Muslims get rather vocal.

It’s getting harder and harder to keep up with the two presidential candidates and the promises they make. For example, John McCain told Latino elected officials….and I quote…”overhauling the country’s broken immigration system, not just securing its borders, will be my top priority.” McCain has made it clear from the beginning that he supports a path to citizenship for illegal aliens. But now, appearing on the Hannity show, he’s “seen the light” and doesn’t!

Obama on the other hand, promised to rescind all of President Bush’s tax cuts during the early stages of his campaign when he was fishing for votes among the fringe-kook segment of the Democrat party. Today, though….that’s all changed. He’s only gonna rescind some of ‘em….but increase the taxes on rich people.

McCain promised “no new taxes” when trolling for votes among conservatives. But now, that’s changed. His shift has caught Republicans by surprise. He was being interviewed on the ABC program “This Week” and was responding to a question about payroll tax increases. He replied–and again I quote –”There is nothing that’s off the table. I have my positions, and I’ll articulate them. I don’t want tax increases, but that doesn’t mean that anything is off the table.”

Obama promised that he would not support the Electronic Surveillance Bill. When it came time for the vote, he voted in favor of it.

So, what’s a voter to do, since neither candidate exhibits bold, principled leadership, and both candidates are flip-flopping like two fish outta’ water flopping around on the pier? What do they really believe? What will they really do if elected? Unfortunately, the answers won’t become clear until after one of ‘em is elected.

It’s like buying an unlabeled can of something you’ve been told contains vegetables. You get home….open the can, and find it contains dog food! At least, you can throw that out with the rest of the trash. When it comes to the presidency, it’s not that easy.

No shit….

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of the nation’s voters say they’ve seen news coverage of the McCain campaign commercial that includes images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and suggests that Barack Obama is a celebrity just like them. Of those, just 22% say the ad was racist while 63% say it was not.

However, Obama’s comment that his Republican opponent will try to scare people because Obama does not look like all the other presidents on dollar bills was seen as racist by 53%. Thirty-eight percent (38%) disagree.

Both campaigns expressed a desire to move beyond the recent flap. On Saturday Obama backed off the racism charge and accused McCain’s campaign of cynicism instead. He also rejected McCain’s charge that the Democrat himself had brought race into the campaign with his dollar bill comment.

Two months after Obama clinched the Democratic Presidential Nomination, the race for the White House remains amazingly close in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

Not surprisingly, the McCain ad generates significantly different perceptions along racial and ethnic lines. Most African-American voters—58%–saw the McCain ad as racist. Just 18% of white voters and 14% of all other voters shared that view.

As for Obama’s comment, 53% of white voters saw it as racist, as did 44% of African-Americans and 61% of all other voters.

There were also significant partisan divides. Democrats were evenly divided as to whether the McCain commercial was racist, and they were also evenly divided on the Obama comment. Republicans, by an 87% to 4% margin, rejected the notion that the McCain campaign ad was racist. But, by a 67% to 26% margin, GOP voters believe that Obama’s comment was racist.

Unaffiliated voters, by a five-to-one margin, said the McCain ad was not racist. By a much narrower 50% to 38% margin, unaffiliateds viewed Obama’s comment as racist.

Overall, just 22% of voters believe that most Americans are racist. That view is shared by 32% of Democrats, 20% of unaffiliated voters and 12% of Republicans. African-American voters are evenly divided on the question.

Barack Obama is a lot like Sean Penn or George Clooney. If you give him a script, he can deliver it pretty well. But if he tries to talk without a script that has been written for him by others, he quickly reveals that he is poorly-informed if not downright ignorant. Today he delivered another classic, by claiming that if only we would all properly inflate our tires, we could save as much gasoline as “all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling.” Seriously:

The stunned silence with which the crowd greets this howler suggests that most Americans have a more practical understanding of energy consumption than Obama.

Just for fun, I did the math. Properly inflating your tires can improve gas mileage by 3%. Of course, many people already keep their tires properly inflated, and many more are at least close to being properly inflated. Let’s be generous and assume that one-half of the total possible savings would be realized if we all inflated our tires properly; that’s a net gain of 1.5% fuel efficiency.

Americans drive approximately 2,880 billion miles per year. If we average 24 mpg, we use around 120 billion gallons of gasoline in our vehicles. If, through perfect tire inflation, we improved our collective fuel efficiency by 1.5%, that would be 1.8 billion gallons. A barrel of oil produces around 20 gallons of gasoline, so the total savings available through tire inflation is approximately 90,000,000 barrels of oil annually.

How does this stack up against “all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling?”

ANWR: 10 billion barrels
Outer Continental Shelf: 18 billion barrels (estimated; the actual total is undoubtedly much higher, since exploration has been banned)
Oil shale: 1 trillion barrels

So, on the above assumptions, it would take only 11,308 years of proper tire inflation to equal “all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling.”

Obama is a curious case. He gives the impression of being an intelligent guy, but through his unscripted comments we have learned that he knows little about history, science or mathematics. He also seems rather shockingly short on common sense, as this most recent gaffe illustrates.

He is so stupid!

Undocumented workers are in constant fear of sweeps by immigration agents. However, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, will soon give certain immigrants an option to come forward.

“That would be horrible … I don’t think how the people feel, but I think it is horrible,” said Carmen Garcia, who is seeking residency.

There are about 500,000 so-called fugitive aliens who have received deportation orders. If they come forward in August, those illegal immigrants are able to have about 90 days to organize their affairs without upheaval.

“They may own property, they may have vehicles, clearly they may have children in school … Again, this will give them the opportunity to work with ICE, and to close out their affairs, before they comply with the law and return to their native countries,” said Virginia Kice, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Immigrant advocates say signing any document, including one for voluntary departure, would mean giving up chances of becoming a legal citizen.

“This is not a solution. A real solution would actually allow us to stay in this country, with our families, with our jobs, and actually continue to contribute to the strengthening of our country,” said Angelica Salas, Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights.

There are holes in the system. Some fugitive aliens may not be aware they are on the deportation list because their papers have been mishandled by unlicensed paralegals, or “notarios.”

“Attorneys can file a motion to reopen based on lack of notice, based on fraud from a notario, even based on fraud by an attorney,” said immigration attorney Gustavo Mora.

In addition, some say returning immigrants to their native countries would be a big step backward.

“Because if you go home, you have no food, no opportunities to work. That is no money,” said Carmen Garcia.

Immigration courts are backlogged and detention centers are full. Federal officials hope the program will ease the pressure.

Let’s pray that they all leave and go back to their countries. We really don’t need them here.
