Smoking Is Okay When Obama Does It

Submitted by Rick Honcho on Saturday, November 22 2008No Comment

The nuanced liberal mind grasps that everything depends on context. Even smoking, which libs have been self-righteously railing against for decades, can be cool under certain circumstances — for example, if the Moonbat Messiah does it. From a WaPo ode to The One entitled “Let the Guy Smoke“:

As for being a role model for youths, Obama’s good habits outweigh this single bad one. … Obama’s steely calm is now one of our country’s major assets. If he needs an occasional cigarette to preserve it, let’s hand him an ashtray, offer him a light and look the other way.

It would take more than a cigarette for Obama to face characters like Putin with “steely calm.” Reagan this guy ain’t.

WaPo argues that while serving as president would be the wrong time for BHO to stress himself out by kicking the habit. You can’t help but think of Lloyd Bridges in Airplane!:

“Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop smoking…”

“Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop drinking…”

“Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue…”

Why don’t we just put him on Ritalin and let a grownup be president?
