Obama Credit Card Scam

Submitted by Rick Honcho on Tuesday, October 28 2008No Comment

I’ve been on the road for most of the last 24 hours, so I’m only just catching up on some of the media movement on the Obama campaign online-donation fraud.

Neil Munro of National Journal talked to experts and, unlike The New York Times, ran a basic Obama-McCain comparison test.

Matthew Mosk wrote a big vanilla blancmange of a piece for The Washington Post that goes to great lengths not to mention that the Obama website disabled the basic security features that are the default settings for most online retailers.

And Scott Johnson (of Powerline) gets to grips with the real issues in America’s newspaper of record.

Meanwhile, last week a reader made a donation to the Obama campaign under the name “Adolfe Hitler” (Don’t ask me why the “e”) of  “#1 Reichstag Building, Berlin, Germany”, charging it to his Mastercard and is now getting welcome-to-the-big-change emails:

Dear Adolfe,

Thanks for joining this movement. It will take all of us working together to bring change to this country, and we wanted to make sure you know about all the opportunities to get involved in your community and online.

Be respectful of others and their opinions. You'll just pound away at the keyboard, taking all that time and getting all hyperventilated, and I'll just hit the "Delete" button as soon as I recognize the inflammatory ramblings of inane leftist drivel.
