McCain Criticizes Obama For Refusing To Visit Iraq With Him

Submitted by Rick Honcho on Wednesday, 28 May 2008No Comment

McCain says Obama won’t know the truth about the progress in Iraq until he visits. Obama says such a visit would be little more than a political stunt.

Who’s right? I’d say McCain, and not because I’m a war-supporting conservative. The war in Iraq is an important part of this country’s foreign policy, and an important consideration in this campaign. If the man who would like to become commander-in-chief has an opportunity to visit the war he’ll be in charge of should he get elected, shouldn’t he do that?

You’d think. But then, as far as Obama is concerned, what’s actually happening in Iraq doesn’t really matter. Because his stance on Iraq as an issue isn’t one formulated upon a consideration of the war as policy but rather on partisan politics.

Iraq War veteran Kate Norley asks presumptive Democrat Presidential nominee Barack Obama two questions:

* Senator Obama, when will you finally decide to go back to Iraq, to see the progress first hand?

* And when will you finally decide to meet one-on-one, unconditionally, with General Petraeus?
