On their way home from an Obama event in Texas, members of the University of Washington Young Democrats filmed and put up a shocking video on Facebook that disparages Muslims, Christians, and others. The profanity laden Facebook video showcases the President of the Young Democrats, Max Wagner, ASUW Student Senator Alex Lark and other members in leadership of the same group engaging in behavior way beneath their future aspirations.

In an attempt to disparage Republicans, the video in question has revealed a very unsettling trend of willingness to say or do anything to belittle those of a different political view. It is sad to see the future of the Democratic Party, one that so often speaks of tolerance, acceptance and responsibility, engage in such outrageous hypocrisy. As a fellow UW student, I call on the students involved in this ugly incident to immediately pull down this highly objectionable content and apologize for any harm that has been caused to those groups maliciously targeted in the video.
