PITTSBURGH—Pittsburgh police say a retired city officer fatally shot one teenager and wounded another after he says they broke into his daughter’s house.

Police say Darnell Burton said he went to check on the house Friday afternoon and encountered intruders.

Police say 18-year-old Dustin Tolliver died from multiple gunshot wounds. A 17-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the side. He was in fair condition at a hospital.

Police say they are conferring with the district attorney to see if Burton should be charged.
